Tomnauld Farm – Terms & Conditions

Welcome

Thank you for choosing to stay at Tomnauld Farm. We are a family-run rural retreat, offering guests a peaceful countryside experience. To ensure all guests enjoy their stay, we kindly ask that you read and adhere to the following Terms & Conditions.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in is available from 3:00pm.

  • We kindly ask guests to advise us of their expected arrival time so that we can personally welcome you.

  • Unless agreed in advance, arrivals after 10:00pm are not permitted.

  • Guests arriving after 10:00pm without prior arrangement may be refused entry and will be responsible for securing alternative accommodation at their own expense.

Occupancy

A maximum of two adults are permitted to stay in each tent/room and there will be no exceptions. 

Farm Environment

Tomnauld Farm is a working farm and guests should expect to encounter livestock, farm machinery, uneven ground, wildlife and farm dogs during their stay.

Dogs are very much part of life at Tomnauld Farm. If you are uncomfortable around dogs or have a fear of dogs, you may wish to consider whether our accommodation is suitable for your needs.

Dogs

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Tomnauld Farm.

Dog owners must:

  • Keep dogs under control at all times.

  • Clean up after their dogs immediately.

  • Ensure dogs do not disturb livestock, wildlife or other guests.

  • Respect fellow visitors and neighbouring properties.

We do not accept dogs prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Any dog deemed dangerous, aggressive, disruptive or threatening may result in the owner being asked to leave the site immediately without refund.

Peace & Quiet

Tomnauld Farm is intended as a peaceful countryside retreat.

To respect all guests:

  • Music, speakers and outdoor entertainment should be switched off by 10:30pm.

  • Guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum after this time.

  • Excessive noise, antisocial behaviour or disturbance to other guests may result in guests being asked to leave without refund.

  • Parents are kindly asked to ensure children remain considerate of other guests, particularly during early morning hours.

Bookings

  • A booking is only confirmed once a confirmation email has been issued.

  • Group bookings and exclusive hire may be available. Please contact info@tomnauldfarm.com for availability and bespoke rates.

Guest Safety

Guests acknowledge that Tomnauld Farm is a rural environment with natural hazards including uneven terrain, livestock, wildlife, water, weather conditions and agricultural activities.

Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of any children or pets in their care at all times.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

Use of Equipment

Guests must read and follow all instructions provided for accommodation facilities and equipment before use.

Tomnauld Farm accepts no responsibility for injury, damage or loss resulting from:

  • Misuse of equipment.

  • Failure to follow provided instructions.

  • Reckless or inappropriate behaviour.

Wood Burners

Only clean, kiln-dried wood supplied by or approved by Tomnauld Farm may be used in wood-burning stoves.

The use of unapproved fuel or wet wood may damage the stove, flue system and tent fabric.

Guests will be liable for the cost of repairing any damage caused through misuse. A minimum charge of £250 will apply, with additional costs charged where damage or loss exceeds this amount.

Vehicles & Personal Property

All vehicles are parked entirely at the owner's risk.

Tomnauld Farm accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to vehicles, personal belongings or valuables during your stay.

Cancellations

If a booking is cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled arrival date, no refund will be payable.

Where a refund is agreed, payment processing fees deducted by Stripe are non-refundable. Current fees are typically 1.5% plus £0.20 per transaction, although international transaction fees may vary.

We strongly recommend that guests obtain suitable travel and holiday insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Force Majeure

Tomnauld Farm shall not be liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling a booking where such failure arises from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Extreme weather events

  • Flooding

  • Fire

  • Disease outbreaks

  • Government restrictions

  • Industrial disputes

  • Terrorism

  • Civil unrest

  • Natural disasters

  • Utility failures

In such circumstances, refunds, rebooking options or credits will be offered at the discretion of Tomnauld Farm and subject to prevailing circumstances.

Smoking & Vaping Policy

Tomnauld Farm operates a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy inside all accommodation, communal buildings, wellness facilities, toilets, showers, covered areas and enclosed spaces.

This policy applies to:

  • Cigarettes

  • Cigars

  • Pipes

  • E-cigarettes

  • Vapes

  • Heated tobacco products

  • Any other smoking device or substance

Fire Risk

Our accommodation contains natural materials, fabrics, timber structures and countryside surroundings that present a significant fire risk.

Any guest found smoking or vaping inside accommodation or prohibited areas will be required to leave the site immediately. No refund will be given.

Disposal of Smoking Materials

Guests who choose to smoke in designated outdoor areas must:

  • Dispose of cigarette ends safely and responsibly.

  • Use appropriate ashtrays or bins where provided.

  • Never discard cigarette ends on the ground, in fields, flower beds, woodland areas or fire pits.

Littering cigarette ends anywhere on the property is strictly prohibited.

Damage & Cleaning Charges

Where smoking or vaping has taken place inside accommodation or prohibited areas, Tomnauld Farm reserves the right to charge the lead guest for:

  • Specialist cleaning costs.

  • Replacement of furnishings, bedding, soft furnishings or equipment affected by smoke damage.

  • Loss of income resulting from accommodation being unavailable for future bookings.

  • Any costs associated with activating fire alarms or emergency call-outs.

A minimum charge of £250 will apply, with additional costs charged where damage or loss exceeds this amount.

Fire Safety

Guests must never:

  • Smoke in bed.

  • Leave cigarettes unattended.

  • Dispose of hot ash, cigarettes or vaping equipment in bins, vegetation or fire pits.

  • Use candles, incense, fireworks, Chinese lanterns or any other naked flame within accommodation.

Any action deemed to place the safety of guests, staff, animals or property at risk may result in immediate removal from the site without refund.

Acceptance

By making a booking at Tomnauld Farm, guests agree to comply fully with this Smoking & Vaping Policy and accept liability for any losses, damages or costs arising from a breach of these conditions.
